Couplings

Couplings are devices used to connect the engine to the gearbox and the gearbox to the wheel or the gearbox to the drum. Various types of couplings are used in cranes, some of which include Drive shaft couplings, Gear couplings, and Brake drums.

Drive shaft couplings

This type of coupling is divided into several categories based on the amount of torque transmitted, of which 4 types are used in Damavand products. This type of coupling is mostly used to connect the gearbox to the wheel, but it has also been used in super-heavy cranes to connect the engine to the gearbox. The distinctive features of this type of coupling are its reasonable price, easy installation and maintenance, and the ability to work with the highest degree of misalignment between the two sides of the drive shaft.

Gear couplings

This type of coupling is divided into several categories based on the amount of torque transmitted, and 10 types are used in Damavand products. This type of coupling is mostly used to connect the gearbox to the drum and takes advantage of high torque tolerance.

Drum couplings‌

These couplings are mostly placed between the engine and the gearbox and can be equipped with hydraulic brakes. These couplings are classified according to the amount of torque transmitted, and 6 types of them are used in Damavand products.
