Hooks or hook blocks are another important component of a crane. A hook set generally consists of several pulleys, hook hooks, wire rope grabs, balancers, idler pulleys, and other accessories. Hooks are classified into different categories in terms of size, number of pulleys, hook size, and application conditions. The materials used in hooks are from the family of alloy steels, carbon steels, and cast irons.
